Wallpaper: “Maximum Invention”
For the last year or so my mantra has been “maximum invention, minimum repetition”. I don’t always live up to it, but it’s something to strive for. I’ve been thinking about how I might express this as a wallpaper and came up with the above as my first design.
The nixie tube is a 3D render I made, the lettering was added in Photoshop. I can’t take all the credit for this phrase – the person who inspired this mantra lived over 300 years ago.

Hi Gary, I was thrilled to finally find your Pixel Feng Shui icons. I have looked for them for such a long time! I lost them and was so glad to see you put them up. I really love that set.
My question is, did you also create an older set of icons that was a set of mystical, mysterious looking books? I cannot find them anywhere. They had names like Mage’s Journal, I believe.
The third set (I am not sure if you were the artist) was a set of New York buildings like the Chrysler Building and the Empire State building and the Twin Towers.
Thank you so much for sharing the Pixel Feng Shui icons. I look forward to seeing what is upcoming.
I’m glad you’ve enjoyed my icons! I didn’t create either of the other icon sets you mentioned and I’m not sure I’ve seen those icons around. You might try “macthemes.net”. The people there really know their icons.
Pretty nice post. I just came by your blog and wanted to say
that I have really liked reading your posts. Any way
I’ll be subscribing to your blog and I hope you write again soon!
Thanks. I will try them! I appreciate it.
I did manage to find the buildings icons (Urban View by Paul Sahner), but the books icons elude me. I am so glad you finally republished Pixel Feng Shui! Thank you again.
